PRESENTER:  Doug Carver, Chaplain

DATE & TIME:  Wednesday, January 27 @ 5:00 - 6:30 pm PST

DESCRIPTION:  Broken societies are filled with broken people, many of whom get "triggered" because they suffer from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). PTSD has simply been defined as a set of reactions that occur after a person experiences trauma. Trauma disturbs people sometimes for years because the pain of seeing violence or being part of a terrible car wreck or having someone close betray you is so cruel. Our Lord Jesus went through trauma, especially on the cross. That's why Jesus understands our deepest torment. Come join this discussion as we learn from Chaplain Doug how to express God's love with knowledge and sensitivity to those with PTSD.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:  Chaplain Doug Carver is a Spirit-filled leader and world class preacher who was mentored for decades by a prayerful, godly woman who taught him much about God, even when he officed at the Pentagon and served as the Chief of Chaplains in the US Army. Now being a Doctor of Ministry candidate at Gordon Conwell Seminary, he is almost "Dr." From his long and robust career as a 2-Star General, he learned much about PTSD and other critical ministry matters. Chaplain Doug currently provides strategic visioning and pastoral leadership to over 3700 chaplains endorsed by the Southern Baptist Convention.
