DESCRIPTION:  The most resilient institution in world history is the church. Ever since its founding, the church has flourished as an international network of ordinary people saved by Christ. Despite unfavorable politics, technological difficulties, language barriers, economic disasters, natural calamities, heresies and infighting, the church remains intact, especially during times of persecution. Even so, most Christians are only vaguely aware of how the church developed and why certain theological subjects took precedence over others that were neglected. Few believers know when the Bible was first published or when St. Augustine lived or when John Calvin and Martin Luther became Protestants. In this story-based 4-hour interactive mini-course, you will receive a framework through which to understand the context of church history, including unfolding events.
