Theology for Doing Evangelism
Course Level: Graduate Level
Hybrid Course Format:
TWO DAY INTENSIVE: 10 hours of class time (not including breaks)
VIRTUAL ONLINE DISCUSSIONS: One weeknight per week (1.5 hours)
Everyone has a theology, even if they believe God is non-existent. This course teaches students how to engage non-Christians in theological conversations that are genuine exchanges and not pre-packaged formulas for evangelism. In other words, it's a course that shows students how to use theology for doing evangelism. This course is for anyone who takes seriously Jesus' mandate for us to go into the world and make disciples.
Key Questions To Be Explored:
What does it mean to think evangelistically about theology?
How can I converse theologically with non-Christians?
How can I express myself theologically in my speech without using any church-culture jargon?
How can I share theological insights with people who don't know God yet?
How many people in post-Christian America might really hear the gospel for the very first time if it were explained to them contextually in the course of conversation rather than contrived in the form of pre-packaged terms?
