Theological Song-Writing

Course Description:

Many churchgoers learn theology not from sermons, but from songs.  What worship songs are theologically rich?  Which are theologically erroneous? How much responsibility do Christian songwriters have when they write songs for believers to sing in praise to God?  This is a special theology course designed for worship leaders.  It is also for Christian songwriters and poets. 

 

Key Questions To Be Explored:

• What is theology?

• What is the difference between good and bad theology?

• What messages are conveyed through melodies and harmonies and rhythm?

• Can you imagine a new song that draws people to the Lord?  What does it sound like?
