Church Elder Board Training

In most evangelical churches, it's the staff, not the elders, who go to seminary.  Yet the elders are responsible for protecting the congregation from false doctrine.

Right On Mission offers three main types of elder training:  Doctrinal Training, Practical Training, and Issue-Related Training.

Doctrinal Training

How many church elders are charged to be the guardians of doctrine they don't know or understand?  How many church elders have never read the Bible from cover to cover?

In most evangelical churches, it's the staff, not the elders, who go to seminary.  Yet the elders are responsible for protecting the congregation from false doctrine.

At Right on Mission, we  can train you theologically at a seminary level.  We help you understand your church’s Statement of Faith, so you can teach it to others, field questions from the congregation, and become competent to hold people accountable.

Practical Training

Are you an elder who wishes someone would help you understand your role?  Are you the chair of the elder board, yet almost completely untrained?

How can elder boards govern effectively when they are mere volunteers with families and full-time jobs?  How can elder boards be efficient and make the most of their time?

Right On Mission customizes the training to help you become a certified elder board.

Issue-Related Training

Is your elder board facing a tough situation?  Is there disunity in the elder board itself?  What are church elders to do when they themselves need someone else to guide them faithfully?  What are individual elders to do when they don't feel invited, even by each other, to contribute their best input openly and honestly in meetings?
